Getting Started with Indoor Plants

Indoor plants bring life, colour, and cleaner air into any home. Whether you live in a bustling city apartment or a quiet suburban house, there's a perfect plant waiting for you. The key to success with indoor plants is choosing species that match your light conditions, lifestyle, and experience level.

For beginners, we recommend starting with hardy varieties like Aloe Vera, Snake Plant (Sansevieria), or ZZ Plant. These species are forgiving of irregular watering and thrive in a range of light conditions. Place them near a window with bright, indirect light and water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Avoid placing plants in direct afternoon sun, which can scorch leaves.

Proper drainage is essential. Always use pots with drainage holes and quality potting mix designed for indoor use. Feed your plants with a balanced liquid fertiliser during the growing season (spring to autumn) and reduce watering in winter when growth slows. With a little attention, your indoor garden will flourish year-round.
